Indigo

4 Mandlik Road,

Colaba, Mumbai 400 001

b28a4ce8007f03dbe25f78c7cb6207fe.jpg (675×495)                Restobar – Lounge

Housed in a turn-of-the century stand-alone bungalow, situated on a bylane off the Gateway of India in Colaba, South Bombay, the restaurant Indigo makes it mark for several reasons. The minimalist approach to its interiors where natural light takes centre-stage over ornamentation; the warmth and old-world charm; the courteous and knowledgeable wait staff; the serious approach to food preparation; and its extensive wine list which won it Wine Spectator’s Award of Excellence for three consecutive years. Conceived in response to the lacuna of fine dining restaurants in Bombay, where a meal of western cuisine could only be eaten in a 5-star hotel restaurant, Rahul and Malini Akerkar felt that the Bombay diner had traveled enough to develop a sophisticated and discerning palate, and whose need was not being met.

So in April 1999, Indigo threw open its doors to the public and, five years later, continues to enjoy major success. Malini has ensured that the restaurant extends its boundaries beyond a mere eating establishment. Over the years, therefore, Indigo has been host to art shows, theatre experiences, jazz nights, and several wine and guest chef dinners.

Located in the atrium of The Lotus Suites, Cirkus Cirkus compares to some of Asia's best and biggest resto – discotheques. You can either chill in the quite dining area, or try the gourmet buffet, or the regular snacks. Or you can watch a magic show, or a breathtaking trapeze act or just sit in a corner sipping your cocktail. Or watch your favourite sports on the 60-ft wide video projection wall. There are live bands playing on a regular basis, flair bartending, dancing waiters, regular events – and a special level for private parties. The swimming pool at Cirkus Cirkus is used by hotel guests by day. But by night it is converted into a beautifully lit fountain. By day Cirkus Cirkus is a restaurant. It begins as a breakfast lounge, with musical waiters and chefs who flaunt their acrobatic-cooking skills in the display kitchen even as the real acrobats and artists entertain the guests.

Executive lunch buffets offer a 16-course spread. At 3.30 PM lunch ends and Hi-Tea begins. Clowns and musicians entertain the guests. Dinner begins at 7pm and a variety of entertainment is provided. Two circus acts are performed. At 10.30 PM, Cirkus Cirkus is transformed into a discotheque and nightspot. The Cirkus, by design and default, entertains.

Aurus- The Latin Word For GOLD

Nichani Kutir, Juhu Tara Road
Before Reid and Taylor Showroom,
Juhu, Mumbai .

         Restobar – Lounge

A celebration of the senses. A meeting point between the splendour of the old world and a new-age assertiveness. Aurus – a home by the sea, where golden sands and opulent chandeliers come together in a convergence of nature and luxury. From Dish Hospitality Private Limited, comes this world-class fine dining restaurant and lounge bar on the beachfront in Juhu. A refreshing change from the minimalist trend of old, Aurus – the Latin word for ‘made of gold’ – embraces all things plush. It reflects the spirit of the new Indian, who expects global standards of hospitality; in an ambience that is as sophisticated as it is luxuriously decadent.

With the sea and an endless expanse of blue sky within reach, Aurus takes its external tropical landscaping and warm interiors to the next level. Then, of course, there’s the food. Fine cuisine with subtle undertones, featuring everything from duck and quail to escargot. The Chef recommends experiencing Aurus’ multi-course meals, while the bar boasts of an extensive wine list, fine spirits and eclectic cocktails.
